Home town: I am from Marshall Wisconsin and am 21 years old. High School attended: Graduated from Marshall Senior High Scholl in Marshall and graduated at the top of my class at Madison Area Technical College for Auto Body Collision Repair and Refinish Technology. Career objectives: I am hoping to come out of this competition with a full time job as a Painter in a well established shop in either the collision or restoration and hot rod industry. After establishing myself and gaining experience and knowledge in the industry, I would like to look into owning my own shop. Hobbies, interests: I've grown up in Wisconsin and love the snow. I am the Vice President of the local snowmobile club for the past two years. So snowmobiling is my biggest hobby but other than that I love working on cars in my garage, bowling, movies, going out on the town occasionally and spending time with friends and family. Why did you join SkillsUSA? I joined the skills USA to see how far my skills would take me in such an organized national club, but I had no idea I would make it this far. Who was most instrumental in your success in SkillsUSA? My instructors Tim Hoege and Rodney Kohlopp have trained me extremely well and helped me become successful in these competitions. Also one of the Diesel teachers at MATC Paul Morschauser has coordinated and helped out with a lot of the technical information. What does it mean to you to represent the United States at the 2009 WorldSkills Competition in Calgary? I am extremely privileged to be representing the USA, Wisconsin, and MATC in Calgary. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I want to get every ounce of experience, knowledge, and opportunity that I can out of this. I hope to be able to increase my skills over the next few months as I practice and train for the competition to put the USA on the podium in Canada. I can’t thank every one enough that is helping me through this great opportunity.
