How did you get interested in your skill?
I made a simple website in computer class in 9 th grade, I thought it was pretty cool I decided to learn some more about designing websites.
Where did you do your training for your skill?
Mostly at home on my spare time, but I learned some things in school too and at various places I've worked at.
How did you first find out about your Member organisation and its programs?
In 2007 when I applied for the Taitaja 2008 semifinals.
Who influenced you to pursue your skill as a career?
No one in particular.
What is your experience in participating with your Member organisation?
So far it's been all good.
Describe your most memorable moment with your Member organisation
At the prize award ceremony at the Taitaja 2009 finals our team was to go up on the stage to be presented to the audience. At that moment it really felt like I was part of something big.
Describe what your experience has been since your involvement with your Member organisation
My experience has been good. The other team members as well as the team leaders are pretty nice. It was a bit awkward at first, but after you got to know everybody a little bit we got along just fine. I don't normally speak Finnish like the rest of the team so communicating has been a little bit difficult at times for me, but so far I've managed.
Did participating in your Member organisation help you progress in your skill? Describe
In some ways yes. I've realized what parts of my skill needs improvement and what I'm good at.
What do you currently do? Where do you work?
I am currently working as a computer technician at NMC Termonova, a mid-size company in Inkoo , Finland . It's hard to describe in one sentence what I do here, basically I do a little bit of everything IT-related around here. Luckily for me this involves some web design and programming, so I have had a good opportunity to train for the upcoming competitions.
What are your future career aspirations?
I'm not quite sure yet. I'm going to continue my studies this autumn (2009) and try to figure out what I want to do with my life. I will probably stay in the IT business for the foreseeable future.
